It would have been interesting if the HuffPo (that wonderfully non partisan news source) had been included in the study.

"'anti-energy' we have more wells and rigs going now," Many of our rigs have gone to Brazil since O's illegal moratorium. Drilling has increased on private lands. "we are at record levels of exporting our gasolines" Actually, we are at record levels of exporting deisel. This has nothing to do with any supposed glut. It is because oil companies make more selling it in Europe - even with the cost of shipping. "we have so much natural gas we don't have the storage to hold it all." The big question is "why"? Corporations are sitting on more than $1trillion, but they can't build, drill, dig, or ship anything. "Where the line gets drawn is polluting the environment and the Far Right wants to dismantle the EPA." No, just trim the fat and slap their hands when they over reach. "No to pollution in our Oceans and Rivers and Aquifers." I don't suppose you are familiar with concept of the point of diminishing returns. I doubt you will hold so strongly to your slogans when you are sitting in the dark. You really need to get news from someplace other than Comedy Central and Huff Po.

1st, We are getting rid of RINO's that have given the Dems cover. 2nd, Repubs have put forth a number of measures to kickstart the economy. Fact is, Mr. Reid won't let them see the light of day. 3rd, your "reams of data" must have been written by Krugman and the HuffPo bunch. Who is doing better, Germany or Greece? Which is practicing austerity and which is taking Krugman's advice? 4th, you do nothing to address the biggest issues, the anti-energy, anti-business policies of the current administration.

WT gets honest in Russia! Printing and Ministry are "core economic activities"
by snare&racket inwt eventually admit their purpose and motive in printing junk..... russia however doesnt buy it !.
"earlier, the claimants [watchtower] stated that the watchdog's orders were unlawful, as publishing and distributing media are its core economic activities.
thus, it said its rights had been violated.".

Printing is the core ECONOMIC activity. We all know that the economic activity is a distant second to the Kingdom activity.

I was reading an interesting book talking about circumcision and how it was NOT Jewish in origin
by sinis init may have actually been egyptian (perhaps much older), but the jews borrowed the tradition from the egyptians.
it was a way for a small priest and ruler minority to alter their physical appearance in line with the "gods".
it was a mark that made this small ruling class "godlike" and different than the rest of the populace... hmmm, interesting.

The Bible does not claim that Abe was the first to do it. Only that God told Abe to do it.

GB: "We don't know if Jehovah wants us to build new headquarters, but we're doing it anyway..."
by cedars inthe latest august 15th watchtower study edition features an interesting review of the society's annual meeting.. one comment struck me as evidence that the governing body isn't quite as "discreet" as it claims.. here is what the article said:.
"there are plans to develop a 248-acre (100 ha) property at warwick.
'although we are not yet certain of jehovahs will regarding warwick,' said brother pierce, 'we are proceeding to develop the site with the intention of relocating the world headquarters of jehovahs witnesses there.

I'm surprised they didn't say something like, "We are convinced that the Big A is closer than our age-spots-cover-up. However, if it doesn't happen, we need to be prepared to provide for the throngs of new JW's that are coming into the organization daily."

JW's and Amway
by Mad Dawg ini just happened to have amway come to mind.
i was involved in three different multi-level-marketing (mlm) scams: scamway, pre-paid legal, and 1st fitnesss.
i don't remember many jw's in cramway, but there were loads of them in the second two scams.

Interesting. Of the parallels that I did notice, I missed that fact that both pressure their members to be their own best customers. My sponsor came to my home and helped to throw out all my "negative" products and order "positive" ones. At the time I left I had about 45 Tape of Week (at 5 bucks a pop) in a box still in their plastic wrapper. It took me a long time to dispose of them. Thanx.

I just happened to have Amway come to mind. I was involved in three different multi-level-marketing (MLM) scams: Scamway, Pre-Paid Legal, and 1st Fitnesss. I don't remember many JW's in Cramway, but there were LOADS of them in the second two scams. I could never figure that out. It now seems that, given the cult nature of MLM's, JW's feel at home in them. However, I now suspect that Amway is/was not liked by JW's due to the way Amway consumes one's time - a precious commodity for a JW.
Any insights you might have would be appreciated. I have no axe to grind, just curious of your perspective.
